Welcome To My Web Page

I am an Indian working as a staff physicist at CERN, Switzerland; the worlds largest laboratory for particle physics where the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will start smashing protons - blowing smithereens to smithereens- in 2009 !

I have been working in detectors and instrumentation since 1987. Some of these detectors are used to track collisions at LHC in pursuit of open questions like:

What rules govern energy, matter, space and time at the most elementary levels ?'

How are phenomena at the smallest and largest scales of distance and time related ?....

...The LHC will provide some of the answers which will lend a better understanding of the birth and evolution of our Universe since the Big Bang.
The Big Bang as it is called, has also created smaller bangs - namely spin off technologies as gifts to mankind. After all, we almost owe our lives to the humble electron !
I am currently involved in the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment dedicated for understanding the most fundamental puzzle: why is there mass at all?
